The EU is committed to helping victims of man-made and natural disasters worldwide and supports over 120 million people each year. Collectively, the EU and its constituent countries are the world's leading donor of humanitarian aid.
The EU first granted a funding of 30.6 million Euros to the School Construction Programme in December 2018, followed by an additional 6 million Euros in August 2020, to provide a total funding of 36.6 million Euros for the construction of 10 new schools for vulnerable children in Jordan.
The EU Madad Fund
The EU Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis (the Madad Fund) was established in 2014 to provide support to Syrian refugees and IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons), as well as the supporting the local communities. The Madad Fund carries this out by focusing and investing in the economic, educational, water sanitation, social and health sectors, therefore leading to economic development and job creation.
KfW is one of the world’s leading promotional banks. KfW has been committed to improving economic, social and environmental living conditions across the globe on behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany and the federal states since 1948.
KfW first granted a funding of 19 million Euros to the School Construction Programme in July 2017, followed by an additional 10 million Euros in November 2017, to provide a total funding of 29 million Euros for the construction of 8 new schools for vulnerable children in Jordan.
The Ministry of Public Works and Housing (MoPWH) in Jordan aims to develop the construction sector by using and implementing the best practices and modern techniques that keep pace with the international developments.
MoPWH is the Project Executing Agency (PEA) in the School Construction Programme.
The Ministry of Education (MoE) in Jordan believes that education is a social necessity and a right for all, each according to his intrinsic abilities and potentials.
MoE is the Project Implementing Agency (PIA) in the School Construction Programme.
