Sustainable
The schools are designed as sustainable
buildings which achieve improved
energy efficiency and utilize green energy
sources such as Solar Energy, making them
cost-efficient and more comfortable for both
teachers and students.
The high degree of comfort that these schools
provide cover not only thermal and visual comfort, but
also ensure better respiratory health.
The Schools are designed as Net Zero Energy Buildings:
-
Using heat pump as the main heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
-
Classrooms are served by fans to ensure they are heated during wintertime, but also cooled during summertime.
-
Provides mechanical ventilation system which injects fresh air into the rooms while providing filtration, dehumidification, and conditioning of the incoming outside air.
-
Renewable Energy: PV plant installed on the roof of the school provides energy for the entire heating / cooling system, hot water and electricity.
-
Zero Energy Bill.
The schools also consider alternative concepts to achieve water efficiency in the building by employing rainwater harvesting and utilizing high efficiency fixtures to reduce water usage.
Net Zero Energy Buildings are Energy-efficient buildings that produce as much energy as they consume over the course of a year, usually by incorporating renewables on-site

Serving the Community
The SCP schools offer access to their sports fields and Multipurpose Hall to the local community, particularly outside regular school hours.
The sports field, situated outdoors, accommodates a variety of fitness activities.
The Multipurpose Hall serves a wide range of users, including students, staff, local community members, and external visitors. This versatile space hosts diverse activities such as educational sessions, social gatherings, exhibitions, plays, lectures, and other events.
Conveniently located on the ground floor for easy community access, the hall is equipped with a sound system, computer facilities, a stage, furniture, and various equipment and supplies.
Efficient
Landscaping
The SCP ensures that the outdoor facilities are integrated in the holistic school design approach. The Landscaping of the schools takes into consideration the surrounding areas and topography, any gender issues and existing vegetation.
The landscaping is done in a user-friendly and efficient manner.
-
Use of native and adaptive species with low irrigation demand.
-
Use of species with low maintenance and care requirements without compromising the aesthetic values.
-
Serving functional requirement such as buffering, shading and wayfinding.
-
Use of different species in terms of color, texture and silhouette to raise the aesthetic value and enhance the sense of place.

Accessible &
Inclusive
The school designs prioritize accessibility for all users, including those with disabilities and physical challenges.
SCP schools ensure inclusivity for all users, whether students, faculty, or parents, regardless of physical disabilities. Each school includes features such as ramps, accessible parking spaces, at least one elevator serving every floor, and dedicated accessible sanitary facilities on each floor.
Moreover, SCP schools recognize the needs of students with learning difficulties who require special education. These students are supported with a dedicated Special Education room staffed by specially trained teachers to provide tailored educational support.

Child-Centered
The Schools are designed to promote the students' individual qualities, elevate their interests and cater to all their needs.
Child-centered schools:
-
Are flexible
-
Promote students' Health by ensuring access to safe and adequate drinking water, sanitation and hygiene.
-
Are gender-sensitive, inclusive and eliminate discrimination.
-
Are designed in a way that encourages the emotional and physical well-being of children.
-
Include common indoor, open, and shaded areas.
-
Create an enabling environment for children to play, learn and experiment.
Safe and Secure
The SCP aims to create a modern public school design model in Jordan that prioritizes safety and security as crucial factors for the 21st century.
The schools’ designs ensure the safety of the lives of students and staff, property protection, compliance with relevant legislative requirements, and minimum disruptions during emergencies.
-
Enhanced natural surveillance: optimizing visibility and sightlines through strategic placement of facilities to eliminate concealed areas.
-
Minimizing opacity and including more transparent items in the design which endorses the safety and well-being of students
The kindergartens’ safety, security, and privacy are further guaranteed by treating them as separate entities with separate entries, services, and outdoor playing areas.

Fully Functional
The schools are planned to uphold child-centered principles through a comprehensive design that encompasses the following elements:
-
Well-designed school buildings equipped with appropriate furniture to maximize comfort and minimize maintenance.
-
Outdoor areas, sports fields, and playgrounds.
-
Sanitary facilities for males and females, ensuring privacy, protection, and respect for cultural customs.
-
Boundary walls and entrance gates for security and control
